Only an hour’s drive from Cairns, nestled in the misty hills of the Atherton Tablelands, in the small historical village of Yungaburra, is a tourist’s delight, a multi-award winning art and craft gallery, that is, The Chalet Rainforest Gallery. It is situated on the Gillies highway at a perfect location, so, stop by and discover a world of rainforest folk amongst much more.
The creative and inspiring marquetry works of Baz Foster are located in our in-house gallery as a permanent exhibition along with a wide selection of locally handcrafted woodworks. With a vast collection of the most delicate gifts and souvenirs from handcrafted jewellery to collectables to Steve Parish publications, this gallery is the perfect gift store for those hard to find gifts. We display and sell fully imported German cuckoo clocks. And for the kids, we have finely made plush teddies and toys, fun colouring books and stickers, along with a vast range of fairy gifts. A popular top-seller is our locally made soaps, body care products and essential oils.
We have a line of traditional aboriginal art, crafts, music and books. Also, we showcase photographs and information on the Atherton Tableland’s history and its development over time. The Chalet Rainforest Gallery hopes to educate and broaden your knowledge on the history that surrounds us, in the lush Atherton Tablelands. Yungaburra, a magical place to be.
